Halton District School Board Presents the 9th Annual PIC Conference, which is free to attend. The conference will take place on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Craig Kielburger Secondary School (1151 Ferguson Drive, Milton).
Attention ALL Full-Day Kindergarten & Grade 1-8 French Immersion, Gifted and English Stream Parents!
“How well students do in school can be determined by how well they are able to self-regulate.” – Dr. Stuart Shanker
Research shows that self-regulation has a stronger association with academic achievement than IQ (Diamond 2007).
This year, we have a SURPRISE guest speaker at our School Open House on October 13th to learn about the importance of Self-Regulation and how it impacts student learning. It is a chance to learn what you can do to help your children succeed at school. As part of our School Improvement Plan, all Pilgrim Wood staff members will be focusing on developing the self-regulation skills of ALL of our students.Join us in this journey!

We would like to welcome everyone back to school for another year full of excitement, fun and learning! We are welcoming approximately 60 new students and have about 600 students coming back! The office is open from 8 am to 3:30 pm. Please feel free to call the office if you have any questions or require any information.
Please make a note that class lists will be posted on Tuesday September 6th after 3:30 on our school website. You need your child's OEN # to find out your child's class. This number can be found on your child's report card. JK and SK students are asked to join us in the Kindie pen on September 7th at 8:20 am. They will be welcomed by their teachers at that time.
Please make note that there is always possibility of reorganizing classes based on numbers and Ministry cap on primary class size. We will inform parents if there are any changes by the end of the first week of October.
All students are asked to go to the back of the building on the blacktop at 8:30 am. Class names and numbers will be posted on the wall and staff will be there to meet and welcome students. There will be extra staff on hand to help if any students do not know their class number. If it rains, we ask all students (for safety reasons, only students please) to join us in the gym. The class lists will be posted in the gym in the event of rain.
Our bell times are from 8:50 am to 3:20 pm. Lunch break will be at 12:50 PM. Teachers will be on duty starting 8:35 am daily. Students are asked not arrive on school property before 8:35 am.
Our staff has asked students to wait to buy classroom supplies until after the first day. You may buy basic supplies before if you wish to. All grade 1 to 6 students will get agendas at no cost, to help keep them organized and for communication with parents.
All students will be bringing a number of important forms home on the first day. It is extremely important that all forms are completed and sent back by the end of the week for the timely start of all activities, documentation and student safety.
Pilgrim Wood School Council will be hosting a Coffee Morning on Friday, September 9th at 9:00 am at the Outdoor Classroom. We look forward to welcoming any new parents and caregivers to the school and reconnecting with existing PW families. We hope you can join us to meet the PW Administration, School Council, and other PW families.
We are looking forward to meeting all students and parents on September 7th! If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at the office number. Thank you.
