Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday and

A Happy New Year!

Thank you to all our families who were able to join our Winter Holiday Concerts for grades 1-8 classes and for FDK classes. Students and staff worked hard to create a wonderful evening for our families! Our students performed well and entertained all of us! Thank you to all our families for your kind donations of $550 to support our music program. This money will be used to purchase new instruments for music room. Thank you for your continuous support.

We would like to thank our wonderful volunteers for helping us at the Book Fair! It was a great success!! We couldn’t have done it without your support! We sold books worth about $10,000 and our library will get almost half of the amount as a Scholastic credit to purchase more books for our library! Thank you!

Thank you to our PW community for supporting our Holiday Toy Drive! We collected 226 new toys that were donated to Kerr Street Mission and The Halton Regional Police ‘Toys For Tots’. Thank you for making someone’s Christmas wonderful!!

We would like to remind everyone that there is an early dismissal on Friday December 22nd. The students will be dismissed at 1:50 PM. Please make arrangements accordingly.

We would like to wish everyone a very safe and happy upcoming Winter Break (December 25th – January 5th) with family and friends.  We wish you Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanza, and Season’s greetings to all families celebrating special days over the holidays.!!

We are very excited about our upcoming Multicultural evening (January 25th) during which we will learn more about the customs and celebrations of all of our Pilgrim Wood community.

We look forward to seeing everyone back on January 8th, 2018! It is certainly shaping-up to be a wonderful 2018 at Pilgrim Wood!

Best Wishes for a Happy New Year,

Gurdeep Lall Kelly Shephard

Principal Vice Principal

Carnaval is coming on Thursday February 1st, 2018!

This 1-day school wide event brings the spirit and festivities of Quebec's Carnaval to life at Pilgrim Wood. Visits from Bonhomme, a student led assembly, curriculum based crafts, outdoor activities and a Cabane à sucre, are all part of the fun!

As the planning committee gets to work, we need help from the community. Here are a few ways that you can help the committee bring a wonderful school wide Carnaval experience to the PW students:

  • Put the date on your calendar!

  • Sign up to volunteer: https://www.volunteersignup.org/949KB

  • Donate recyclable items that can be used to build structures for the floats on parade

    • A bin will be set up in the office so you can drop off starting Jan 15th and until then be sure to set aside all of your holiday boxes and containers (especially those wrapping paper tubes)
